Hi everyone,
I just finished reading the book Diana:The Portrait by Rosalind Coward. No it's not a very new book it's been out a while. It's the big coffee table sized book that I'd been putting off reading for some reason. I paid $60.00 bucks for it and the other day I saw it in the bargain books at a well known book store for $10.00 which made me sick. If they can sell them for that now why can't they sell them for that when they first come out? Any way that's not my point, I finished it and it was a very enlightening book. Of course it was written from the all good things side which I don't mind and they kept stressing in the book that she wasn't perfect or a saint or anything but I keep asking myself these questions. I mean she called what she was doing for charities and helping people her work and at the end of her life she seemed to be focusing more on it than ever but I don't think she seperated work from personal time like most people do because it's who she was. The more I read the more I realize that her work was truly her way of life. It made me think "My God this woman accomplished so much in such a short amount of time it's truly unbelieveable." She was criticized and hurt so much because she followed her heart and did what came naturally to her. The more I read the more amazed and enthralled I become. I can only imagine what it would be like had she been alive today...She truly lives on in the hearts and minds of all the people she touched whether it was physically or from the T.V. screen or from the pages of a magazine or a BOOK

I also have put off reading that book It is such a big book I haven't read it all yet. I got the book two years ago in Toronto for only 24 dollars and 99 cents. I really enjoy looking at all the pictures in it and I really like all the nice things said about Diana. I also agree I hate it when the books go down in price because it isn't fair for people who pay full price for the book when it first comes out and then there's poeple that wait a few months or a year an the book is half price or only ten dollars! They should kepp the book reasonably priced but obviously not too cheap. I am so happy to have this bbokok in my collection of books about Diana it's a nice touch. _________________ "I found myself wanting to hug and kiss (my sons) all the time. Yeah I got this book for £30.00 which I think it's quite pricey. It's beauitful written and some unseen pictures. I saw in discount shop, not a long ago that this book now worth £14.99. That is the half price and it's really cheesed me off. It's a big book and a little heavy but like AngelDiana said at least it's part of our collection. From now on, the book(s) I may be interested about Diana, I will wait until it's lower the price because that is what they always do after approximately 6 months. I have admit I havn't read it all yet but maybe one day I will. |
